Rihanna for River Island!

My new obsession this Spring/Summer is the exclusive Rihanna range for River Island. The pieces are amazing and have some great detailed pieces, from zips to cut away backs! In stores from the 5th of March! #rihannaforriverisland 

Branding...

When beginning to brand myself I needed to think of ways in which I could successfully do this, so I have came up with the idea of this brand logo for myself which shows off my work and my area of specialism. I have used some of my most recent designs to the branding and I am hoping that these are going to prove a successful way of putting my name out into industry! 

Printed Scarf Project

This is my most recent project which I have just completed. Based on the theme of time I have created a collection of digitally printed scarves. Using programmes such as photoshop and illustrator I have been able to create three individual designs which compliment my theme. I hope to sell some of the designs in the near future and feel that the project has been a great success. I have been able to work to a commercial brief and successfully produce a range which is ready to sell. I have also branded the designs and provided the satin scarves with care labels and prices. This project has been very exciting as it has allowed me to become very creative with a product for a client. 

Laser Cut Project...

We are running many projects at the same time so things are getting very busy; but some time management skills are in place to ensure I keep up to date with everything! My favourite project at the minute is the CAD project in which I have used motifs from the Folkloric project to create these laser cut pieces. The images above are some of the samples which I have experimented with different materials. My favourite has to be the perspex bird design as I aim to produce some jewellery pieces from the perspex designs.

What's the time Mr Wolf?

It's new project time again, and this time the aim of the game is to design a collection of products to sell in handmade haven Made in Jesmond. Working alongside the brief we have been given and sticking to the requirements and ethos of the shop I have decided to create a collection of printed scarves with the theme of 'time'. 

The images above are some of my recent and initial drawings, using some photographs which I have taken on a recent trip to New York and some of the Newcastle area such as Northern Goldsmiths clock. 

The initial drawings are mainly line drawings as I aim to introduce colour later in the project. I have used many different techniques such as continuous line, mono-printing and blind drawings. 

Folkloric Project

Hi everyone its been a while since I have posted, but I have been very busy creating my newest prints! I decided to go back to traditional printing techniques for this project as I was using the theme of Folk to inspire me! Using four colour-way screen prints and hand embroidery I have created two prints for a fashion garment. I have added images of the printing process in which I used hand cut stencils to achieve the block colour behind my line work! Hope you enjoy!
