Folkloric Project

Hi everyone its been a while since I have posted, but I have been very busy creating my newest prints! I decided to go back to traditional printing techniques for this project as I was using the theme of Folk to inspire me! Using four colour-way screen prints and hand embroidery I have created two prints for a fashion garment. I have added images of the printing process in which I used hand cut stencils to achieve the block colour behind my line work! Hope you enjoy!

Topshop & Louise Gray @ Port Eliot Festival

These beautiful summery photographs were taken by Topshop & Louise Gray @ Port Eliot Festival. For me they sum up a fashion forward, vintage and quirky summer. They inspire me to create a beautiful collection of summer prints!

Summertime

I have been neglecting my blog whilst enjoying a nice break during my summer! But I am now back and want to share some of the beautiful flowers in my back garden; I am going to start drawing from these photographs soon! The peony roses are my favourite!

Tribal Travels!

I have added some of my recent project to my blog, these photographs are pages from my sketchbook and some of my final sample boards. I have enjoyed this project as we have been working with wallpaper designer Kate Usher which has been really inspiring as well as a great opportunity. Will add some images of final collection at a later date!

Floral Photography

I decided to take some photographs of these really different and unique Tulips as i felt they were a great primary source for drawing and creating some unique floral patterns. I then moved onto photographing my garden in bloom.

My next project begins tomorrow, and i am researching already! The wallpaper project is a live brief with local designer Kate Usher; my research has begun with my personal favourite: Timorous Beasties!

Digital Prints...

These prints were created for a digital print project, the brief was "Bloom" and I used my own photographs of the florals in my garden. From those photographs drew the motifs which turned into these prints! I feel the mixture of colours has worked really well and has created a vibrant and fun collection.

Surface design in ceramics...

I have recently signed up for a 6 week course in ceramics, we are looking at the application of surface design on clay. So far the course has been really helpful and interesting, using a different surface to apply pattern to has allowed me another avenue for my work. I have decided to take forward my futuristic motifs to apply to the clay and have used cutwork, slip trails and scrafito.
